The course

You will learn the practice and teaching methodology for classical Hatha Yoga and the creative structure and sequencing of Vinyasa flow. The course contains a lot of practical classes, focusing on safe and correct alignment in the asana, principles of demonstration, hands-on adjustment and assistance. Throughout the duration of the training, you will be asked to teach mini-classes to your fellow students, thus gaining confidence and deepening your teaching skills.
We will also investigate thoroughly the philosophy behind Yogic teachings, and study the meaning and techniques of Pranayama, mudra, bandha, mantra and shatkriya.

As a part of this program, you will learn photography, videography and editing your pictures and videos and publishing on a website we will build together. We will start from the beginning and bring you to a level where you are comfortable taking great pictures and videos of yourself and friends practicing yoga. Additionally, you will learn basics of web design (WordPress and/or Wixx), and SEO. so you can create and manage your own website. By the end of the training, you will have one or more multimedia clip about you, your Yoga practice, your experience going through this life-changing event – your personal story. This clip will be a great way to share your experience with friends and family, and market yourself if you are looking for volunteer/teacher jobs.

The Venue

Blue Indigo is an intimate Yoga cottage downtown Siem Reap, only minutes away from the city centre, but tucked in lush natural gardens. It was built from the ground up, with the vision to be a place to immerse yourself in wellness. In this bubble of peace, with 4 Yoga shalas, a small dining area and beautifully decorated wooden cottages, you will not feel the time pass.
You have a choice of staying in a shared cottage (2 beds), dorm (2 bunk beds), or organizing your own accommodation outside of the centre (the classes and meals included in the fee) when attending the TTC.

The Food

Included in the event are 3 vegetarian, homemade meals every day. All of the ingredients are carefully selected by the owner himself, who visits local marektes in the early morning hours, to guarantee quality and freshness. Since childhood, Laura has always been busy playing sports, tennis being her greatest passion. Naturally, she chose an education to become a sports teacher. After her graduation, Laura started to teach tennis to adults and children, simultaneously working at a gym, teaching aerobics, step and body pump. Around this time in her life she discovered Yoga. From then on, there was a natural shift from a fast, busy, active and sportive lifestyle, to a life where Laura started listening to what she really needed.

After years of practicing Yoga, Laura decided it was time for the next step and she subscribed to and completed a Yoga TTC in Goa, India, after which she started teaching Yoga full time.

Besides her passion for yoga, she genuinely loves to teach. She can help you find your own teaching style, as she did to numerous interns she assisted in developing this skill.
